Two Layered Coconut Burfi Recipe. This layered coconut Burfi recipe is a makeover of the traditional Indian sweet, often made in homes during festive season. This is an easy to make sweet dish. To make this coconut burfi recipe more interesting, I have made them into two layers, one layer in white and another layer in pink. Those pink and white layers are pretty to look at. I added a few drops of pink colour to get that color. But if you don’t want to add any artificial colors, then simply make one layer of white coconut burfi.

- 2 cups Desiccated Coconut
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 4-5 Drops Pink Food Colour
Steps to make Coconut Burfi (Nariyal Ki Burfi)
- Firstly, boil the milk. Allow it to cool slightly. Strain the milk and set aside. The milk should be slightly warm.


- Heat ghee in a pan.


- Add the desiccated coconut and roast on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes.



- Add the milk and cook till the milk is absorbed and you get a crumbly texture.



- Add the sugar and cook further till the water content is absorbed. Do not overcook because it should not be dry but there should be no moisture too.


- Take a glass tray or a square cake tin. Line it with parchment paper. Spread half of the coconut mixture. Level the mixture with the back of a greased spoon. To the remaining half coconut mixture, add pink food colour and mix it well.


- Spread the pink coconut mixture on top of the white coconut mixture and level the mixture with the back of a greased spoon. Allow to cool. Garnish it with desiccated coconut.



- Cover it with a cling wrap and refrigerate it for 4 to 5 hours.


- After refrigeration, cut into desired shape and size.



- Soft and Moist Two Layered Coconut Burfi is ready to devour. Store the remaining in an airtight container.
