- 1/4 cup freshly grated coconut
- 2 sprigs curry leaves
- 1 tbsp split urad dal
- 6 dry red chillies

- 4 cloves of garlic chopped roughly
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
- as per taste Salt

- Heat a Kadhai and when hot add the oil. Then add in the split urad dal, dry red chillies, slices of onion, ginger, garlic & curry leaves.
- Sauté well for a few minutes.
- Then add the chopped cubes of tomato and cook till they turn soft.
- Then add the grated coconut and mix everything well and cook for 2 minutes.
- Once everything gets cooked well turn off the heat and add salt & Kashmiri chilli powder. Let it cool down completely.
- Then grind it to a smooth paste. If you wish to add water you can do it if you like a thin Chutney consistency.
- Serve immediately with hot steaming Idlis or crispy Dosas
