  1. 1/2 cup chana dal
  2. 1 cup grated coconut
  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  5. 2 tbsp ghee
  6. Pinch salt

Instructions to make Chana dal Coconut Doce

  1. Soak the chana dal for 4-5 hrs, pressure cook it for 3-4 whistle and turnoff the flame. Let it cool completely.
  2. Once dal completely cooled down grind it to a fine smooth paste with out adding any water.
  3. Grind the grated coconut with 3-4 tbsp water and keep it aside.
  4. Now In a pan add 1 tbsp ghee, chana dal paste, coconut paste and sugar. Mix well. Switch on the flame. String till everything comes together.
  5. Add 1 tbsp ghee and cardamom powder and pinch of salt. Stir it continuously till starts leaving the sides of the pan and thick dough. Once done switch off the flame.
  6. Transfer this mixture to a greased plate or tray. Flatten with rolling pin. Make this line design with a knife gently on top.
  7. Let it set completely. Cut it diamond shape pieces when the mixture has completely cooled.
